Example

Remove the rows before position 3 and after position 5 of the DataFrame:

data = {

df = pd.DataFrame(data)

newdf = df.truncate(before=3, after=5)

print(newdf)

Definition and Usage

The truncate() method removes elements before and after the specified indexes or labels.

Use the axis='columns' parameter to remove specified columns.


Syntax

dataframe.truncate(before, after, axis, copy)

Parameters

The index, columns, axis, copy, inplace parameters are keyword arguments.

Optional. Remove everything before this value
after Number

Optional. Remove everything after this value

Optional, default 0. The axis to truncate

Optional, default True. Specifies whether to return a copy of the DataFrame or not
